Malaysian production house D8 teamed up with 36NORTH and Collyns Design to craft the stage, lighting, video, and production design for Bangkok’s Neon Countdown NYE festivals in 2022 and 2023.

The massive 45m x 27m stages were built from F-44 truss covered with LED pixel tape, strobes, and hybrid fixtures to streamline touring setups. LED screens featured a crisp 4.9mm pitch, while pyro platforms and effects were seamlessly engineered into the build.

36NORTH and Collyns Design provided detailed pre-visualization renders and documentation to keep the spectacle on track, culminating in headliner sets from artists including Martin Garrix, DVLM, and Armin van Buuren.

Since its 2015 debut in Malaysia, Neon Countdown has expanded into a global EDM brand, including a landmark edition at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium in 2018, where 36NORTH were present as in-house video operators.
