When Jing, a renowned high end Asian-fusion restaurant chain with celebrated outposts in Denver and Aspen, opened its Downtown Summerlin location in May 2020, they came to 36NORTH to create a one of a kind digital lighting installation that blends art and technology.

The installation includes a custom built wine rack, featuring 12 crystal shrouded LED columns, a ceiling grid of 45 recessed leather panels lined with LED tape above the luxurious dining area and a 35 by 15 foot wide chandelier above the bar.

36NORTH designed, built, installed, and programmed each feature as well as integrating all of the restaurant house and architectural lighting into our propriety user interface, SVI.

Lighting control is driven by Chamsys MagicQ with Marlin dimmers. Video mapping and control of the 650’ of intelligent LED tape comes from a combination of Entecc Elm and Resolume via a custom built media server.

The SVI interface enables Jing to control the whole restaurant from one GUI on their iPad. Preset looks including daytime, early evening and late night looks and be scheduled or manually selected. Additional options are also at their finger tips for changes on the fly including colour selection, brightness, LED chases, patterns as well as a series of short custom presentations animations.
